A Tale of Two Ghosts
Construction on the Egyptian Theatre started in 1928 and finished in 1929. The building’s age makes it a prime spot for paranormal sightings, of which there have been several. Many people believe the theater is home to two ghosts.
Irvan “Irv” Kummerfeldt is the most well-known of the ghosts. Irv suffered a heart attack and passed away inside the theater in 1988. Since his passing, visitors and staff members have spotted him wandering around the theater. He briefly appears before disappearing.
Bob is the lesser-known of the two ghosts, and he’s a little more active. Bob has been known to move objects around, open doors, and occasionally even gives audience members a quick tap on the shoulder. Don’t stand in the back of the group during the tour or your shoulder might be the one he decides to tap.
Are There Other Ghosts?
Irv and Bob get most of the press, but rumor has it that the theater is home to other ghosts as well. There is an audio recording of an unidentified female voice speaking to a paranormal investigator. Who is the female? Investigators don’t know yet, but maybe you can find some clues during the tour.
About the Tour
During the tour, the staff will take you to parts of the theater the public doesn’t normally get to visit. The staff will also share some hair-raising secrets with you. You are encouraged to bring your camera along just in case you see Bob, Irv, or that unidentified female. You also might see flashes of light or doors closing. There is no telling what might happen during this creepy tour.
